You are
Vorzug. How did you come up with that name?
Daniel Beck really came up with the name. We had previously talked about what
we were looking for in a name, it had to match our music, our personalities,
and look/sound good. We both wanted a German name, as we're both of German
decent and he brought up Vorzug. The name fits in all the ways we were wanting
it to fit.
How did
Vorzug form? What is the history of your band?
Dan, Ivan, Rock and myself were all members of another band. We ended up losing
the ability
to use that
band name due to trademark issues. So we were already together. We have also
previously performed together in other bands. Dan and Rock were in Bloodhaven,
Rock and Ivan were together in Kult Of Thorn, and we have all played together
in Green Jelly.
You
recently released your first digital single I Am In Hell. What is it about?
It's general theme is about a murderer that is haunted by his victims. It is
also sort of based on
the film
Hellraiser.
You are
working on your debut album. How is it going to be?
It's going to be pretty much what we do best. Old-School Death Metal with black
metal overtones.
We've
always been the kind of band that writes what we feel, but sometimes we've over
thought the song, this time around for this album at least our songs are going
to be very emotionally raw, but produced to have that sound that people have
come to expect from us.
How do you
describe the music style you guys play? Because it has a lot of influences.
We
like to keep it simple, Old-School Death Metal. That umbrellas a lot of genres.
We have elements of traditional, black, death, gore and thrash metal all rolled
into one, but with ominous overtones.
What does
the future looks like for Vorzug?
I
think it looks pretty good. This is a great line-up, we're all long time
friends/family. Aside from that we're all on the same page with our music and
where we want this project to go, and we're all putting in the work required.
We have a strong team with our PR company (The Metal Detector Music Promotions)
Apollyon Entertainment/Universal Music Group, and various other partners that
are out there like yourself that helps get the word out on Vorzug.
Can we
expect some tour dates of you? If so, where?
For
sure, we're starting to do our booking for the first quarter of 2015. The album
will come out in January 2015, and we're planning on doing a small 7-8 show
first quarter tour for immediate support of the album. We've been talking with
Six Feet Under about doing some tour dates with them, so once we hear back with
some more info when that time comes we'll be able to discuss more about it.
And, last
but not least, do you have anything else to say?
